The University of Bucharest hosted, between January 16-17, 2023, the working meeting of Stream 3. Embedded Joint Educational Offer, within the CIVIS European Alliance – Europe’s Civic University Alliance. Stream 3 brings together the work packages of the Alliance responsible for the structural and strategic design of the educational offer of the Alliance, currently being coordinated by the team of the University of Bucharest.
In addition to the University of Bucharest, representatives of the following CIVIS member universities physically attended the meeting: Sapienza Università di Roma, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, as coordinators of the work packages within the stream, as well as representatives of Aix-Marseille Université, as project coordinators. The meeting took place in a hybrid format, with representatives of the other CIVIS universities, Université Libre de Bruxelles, Stockholm University, Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, University of Glasgow, Paris Lodron University of Salzburg and University of Lausanne participating online.
The University of Bucharest was represented at this meeting by assoc. prof. Sorin Costreie, PhD, coordinator of the CIVIS Alliance at the UB level, prof. Romiță Iucu, PhD, member of the Coordinating Committee of the CIVIS Alliance and UB representative in the CIVIS Educational Council, prof. Anca Nedelcu, PhD, coordinator of work package 8 “Embedding Joint Educational Offer”, lect. Roxana Zus, PhD, lect. Anișoara Dumitrache, PhD, and lect. Simona Iftimescu, PhD, members of work package 8, Raluca Amza, CIVIS-UB deputy institutional coordinator, Alina Cristovici, UB representative in work package 1 “Management and Governance”, and Alexandru Carțiș, Coordinator of the CIVIS Unit for Education within the Alliance .
The discussions during the meeting focused, among other things, on the elements related to the coordination of the stream and the work packages within it, such as the completion of the progress report for the period September 2022 – January 2023 and the action plan for the following period. Also, the components of the educational framework of the Alliance were discussed and developed, in relation to the trends and developments at the European and international levels, aiming at the design of a conceptual, structural and strategic milieu for the definition of future educational activities implemented within the alliance.Among the topics covered by the stream meeting were the workshops on innovative pedagogies, workshops that enjoyed a real success among members of the CIVIS academic community. The objectives of the Alliance emphasize the need to ensure a transformational milieu for the CIVIS academic community and the members of the partner universities.The conclusions of the working meeting will constitute essential components for the development of educational activities at the level of the Alliance, aiming at the educational structure, the training activities of the academic staff, the models dedicated to the new educational structures and the strategy for the implementation of common study programs and European Diplomas.CIVIS is a European University Alliance that brings together 11 member universities: Aix-Marseille Université (France), National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece), University of Bucharest (Romania), Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium), Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain), Sapienza Università di Roma (Italy), Stockholm University (Sweden), Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen (Germany), University of Glasgow (UK), Paris Lodron University Salzburg (Austria) and University of Lausanne (Switzerland).
