Friday, July 19th 2024, the teams coordinating the SciResCareer & ResPonSE projects invite the community of the University of Bucharest – students, teaching staff, administrative staff and alumni – to the Dimitrie Brandza Botanical Garden, in the picnic area, to the event which closes a week dedicated to the celebration of 160 years since the founding of the University of Bucharest and 330 years of higher education in the Romanian space.
Starting 5 PM, prepare for a face-to-face meeting with biology, chemistry, physics, ecology, psychology and educational sciences explained by teaching staff, researchers and students of the University of Bucharest. We will show you how to scientifically explain what passions you the most or, if you want to prove your chemistry quiz skills, we invite you to spend the afternoon together.
Have you ever asked yourself why nature function the way it does? Are you curious to discover how the rainbow forms, how lightning appears or what electrons are? We invite you to join us is a series of captivating and, at the same time, fundamental experiments in the development of humanity.
If you want to experiment static electricity on yourself using a Van de Graaff equipment, or generate electricity using a Faraday dynamo, we are eager to meet you Friday in the Botanical Garden, in the picnic area.
If you want to look through the microscope and discover the fascinating world of biology, come pay us a visit. If you are over 14 and are curious to find out how your brain works and want to make a recording with the EEG system, we invite you to join us.

Prepare to discover the mysteries of geography by means of the thermovision cameras mounted on drones, to turn into a geo-detective, by inspecting and scanning the characteristics of vegetation, soil or constructed surfaces, and then by visualizing and analyzing them with the aid of specialized software. You will discover that geography is not just about encyclopedia, complicated geographical names, altitudes and river lengths, but that now – by means of technology – it has become a true analytic science.
Come and see the new researches and solutions to maintain clean water and a healthy environment.
We will show you what coaching means and we will demonstrate how children and youths can express their emotions through specific exercises.

The event also includes a creative guitar workshop, a photo-corner, a time capsule and an inspirational messages wall.
The central element of the event will be, starting 7 PM, the theatre play The Last night of love, the first night of war, by Camil Petrescu. The show tells the story of love and war that the main character, Ștefan Gheorghidiu, experiences, which are just a pretext to deepen his mental processes, transforming into life and death situations. In parallel to the esthetic stake, there is also an educational one, as the main character plays the role of a guide in relation to the spectators, who are invited to reflect on their own experiences and the current historical context, relating them to the episodes represented on the scene.
The theatre play, approximately 50 minutes long, is part of the project Theatre for BAC and is a production of the Theatre Pedagogy Master at UNATC in Bucharest (Acting Department).

The events dedicated to the anniversary of 160 years since the foundation of the University of Bucharest and 330 years of higher education in the Romanian space are organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Education and with the support of the Romanian Commercial Bank – BCR, KPMG Romania, Kaufland Romania, the Civil Society of lawyers Stoica & Asociații and Aqua Carpatica.
