Science Communication Group of the University of Bucharest promotes the scientific activity carried out within the University of Bucharest, supports research results while seeking to increase public involvement in science issues.
The group formed by researchers and science enthusiasts was born from the desire to create a favorable environment for promoting scientific activities, to popularize outstanding results and to facilitate dialogue between scientists and the non-specialist public.
The Science Communication Group creates the bridge between researchers and the general public through a series of activities that popularize science, which are carried out inside and under the tutelage of the University of Bucharest. The group also wants to create the necessary framework for establishing closer relationships between researchers, which will facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations, partnerships and the transmission of research results.
The Science Communication Group aims to:
- To increase Romanian scientists research results notoriety
- To educate and increase the non-specialist public enthusiasm
- To encourage the interest of the young generation in science
- To organize events dedicated to researchers, science enthusiasts and general public
- To promote research projects, scientific activities and outstanding results

- Events dedicated to the general public:
The UB conferences provide scientific information in an attractive format for the general public and encourage the connection between the academic and non-academic environment, based on current topics of interest. Conference guests are professors, researchers or personalities from the world of science who give a presentation of about an hour each month, followed by a moderate dialogue with the participants. The articles promote and popularize scientific activities and results, research projects and partnerships in a format accessible to the general public. More information on popular science articles can be found here.
The activities of the Science Communication Group are organized in collaboration with the Communication, Public Relations and Marketing Department of the University of Bucharest and are supported by ICUB – Research Institute of the University of Bucharest and the Alumni Association of the University of Bucharest.
