Between November 11th – 15th 2024, the Autonomous University in Madrid (UAM) will organize the launching event of the project Strengthening the Biomedical Research Community: Science Bridging Boundaries. The participants will take part in a 5-day event dedicated to the promotion of the collaboration between the researchers in the CIVIS network and the African partners of the alliance
The event will be held inside the Convention Center and Residence of UAM, and will consist of lectures in the field of research, poster presentations and workshops for PhD students and professors.
Entrance is free for UB PhD students and teaching staff, but places are limited. The benefits of attending the event include:
For PhD students:
Creating international dialogue networks with colleagues across Europe and Africa;
Improving communication abilities to disseminate and efficiently present research results by promoting the poster associated to the paper;
Acquiring new knowledge and techniques by means of discussions, workshops and dialogue with top researchers.

Establishing collaborations in the field of research with colleagues around the world;
Documentation for finding financing opportunities for research projects;
Developing new educational programs by means of the dedicated workshops for BIPs;
The program includes 40 short lectures in the fields of Bioimagistics, The research of biomarkers, Aging and Geriatric Medicine, Cancer, Cardio-vascular diseases, Chronic inflammatory diseases, Biochemistry and Genetics, Bioinformatics, AI, but also introductive sessions presented by professor John Eriksson, General Director EuroBioImaging – ERIC (November 11th), dr. David Sancho, Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares – CNIC (November 12th), professor Albena Dinkova-Kostova, University of Dundee (November 13th) and by dr. M. Laura García Bermejo, Director, Spanish node EATRIS-ERIC (November 14th).
