On the 26th -27th of October 2018, the Centre for Philosophical Formation (CFF) of the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Philosophy, and the UNESCO Chair for Intercultural and Interreligious Exchanges of the same faculty, in partnership with the profile faculties of Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Timișoara and the “EduȘcoală – Inspirație în educație!“ Association organized the Philosophy Professors’ National Conference. The organizer of the conference was PhD Marin Bălan, Lecturer of the University of Bucharest.
The theme „Ethics and how to teach ethics in the pre-academic education” reunited philosophy professors from Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, Constanța, Galați, Buzău, Târgu Jiu and Câmpulung Muscel.
The aim of the conference was to facilitate the exchange of good practices and experiences in approaching ethical problems in different contexts of teaching/learning (philosophical, civic, social etc.) in the primary, secondary and highschool education system. The conference was attended by professors, with a bachelor in philosophy, who teach Logic, Argumentation, Communication and Philosophy in colleges and highschools, or Social Education and Civic Culture in gymnasium schools.
Also, the conference was an excellent opportunity of information and experience exchange for professors who teach socio-human curricula, but who graduated non-philosophical studies (Sociology, Psychology, Economics, Political Sciences, Law or History), as well as for the teachers of primary schools, where we find more subjects with moral content: Civic education, Education for society or Philosophy for children. Religion, literature, sciences, artistic education, physical education professors and students preparing to become philosophy professors, also participated at the event.
