Between November 11th – 13th 2024, the University of Bucharest will organize the Gala of Sustainability, an event dedicated to discussions on the future of work in the context of sustainability, artificial intelligence and social inclusion.
Hosted at the Administration Board Hall at the Rectorate of the University of Bucharest (90 Panduri Street), the event aims to bring forth the major transformations on the work market, exploring the impact of sustainability and technology on the future of jobs, but also to highlight the projects of the University of Bucharest focusing on sustainability.
The Gala of Sustainability will debut Monday, November 11th 2024, at 11 AM, with an interactive session regarding transport services for students and a dialogue concerning the sustainability strategy of the University of Bucharest.
Tuesday, November 12th 2024, starting 12 AM, the UB community is invited to the conference The future of work: green jobs and smart technology, an event whose goal is to approach the transformations of the work market in the context of sustainability, technology and social inclusion, reuniting experts to discuss the emerging challenges and solutions. The structure of the conference includes three panels exploring critical themes connected to the dynamics of the work market, recruiting, artificial intelligence and inclusive leadership for employees with disabilities:
Panel 1: Next Level Skills – how to prepare for the jobs of the future
This panel will explore the way in which the principles of sustainability influence the recruiting, development and calibration of competencies on the work market. The focus will be on adapting to the changing needs of organizations and the evolution of requests in terms of abilities and competencies.
Panel 2: AI JOB – How to compete with AI on the same job
The discussions on this panel will highlight the role of artificial intelligence in transforming the work market and in optimizing work practices. AI will be analyzed from the perspective of sustainability, but also through an ethical frame and in relation to the long-term impact on workplaces.
Panel 3: Inclusive leadership and social sustainability: adapting the work environment for employees with disabilities
This panel will approach the importance of inclusive employers and inclusive leadership in the context of social sustainability, concentrating on integrating and adapting the workplace for employees with disabilities. The participants will discuss models of good practices and the legislation in force, to create an accessible and sustainable workplace, respecting diversity and promoting inclusive leadership.
UB projects with an impact in the community, presented within the Gala of Sustainability
Wednesday, November 13th 2024, starting 12 AM, the members of the UB community are invited to discover the projects with social impact carried out at the level of the university. Thus, either we talk about the creative projects of pupils from the SEED programs of the Virtute et Sapientia Foundation, about the UNICO experience, the coLABORATORUL de IDEI or other student projects with an impact in society, students, teaching staff and researchers, the University of Bucharest will be one step closer to the community.
