Out of a desire to contribute to a stronger involvement of the academic community and partners in the development of education and training of the younger generations, the University of Bucharest has launched the “Virtute et Sapientia” Foundation and the UB SEED | Educational Support for Disadvantaged Students.
Starting from the premise that material deprivation prevents many young people from continuing their studies and reaching their true potential, these projects aim to come up with concrete solutions to prevent dropping out of school for as many students as possible.
“Beyond the responsibility we all have for the formation of future generations, we consider these two initiatives as an opportunity to reconfirm the role of the University of Bucharest in society and to support some categories of young people with limited material possibilities” is the message delivered by the representatives of the UB Foundation.
Thus, through the UB SEED program Educational Support for Disadvantaged Students, the “Virtute et Sapientia” Foundation of the University of Bucharest offers all employees the opportunity to contribute and come to the aid of students from disadvantaged backgrounds by redirecting 3.5% of income tax. The percentage is redirected by filling in Form 230 (in the case of income tax), which you can download here.
