Wednesday, August 17, 2022, the University of Bucharest organizes, in collaboration with the University of Kiel, the Museum of the Municipality of Bucharest, the Museum of the Lower Danube Călărași, the Museum of Civilization Gumelnița Oltenița, the Institute of Archeology “Vasile Pârvan” in Bucharest, the Romanian Association of Archeology and the Municipality of Mănăstirea, Open Days (19th edition) at the Sultana-Malu Roșu archaeological site in Călărași county.
Thus, between 10:30 and 13:30, those interested can visit the archaeological site and admire some of the most interesting discoveries from this year’s campaign. The event will take place at Grădinita no. 1, Lehliului street, no. 79, Sultana village, Mănăstirea – Călărași county, starting at 10:30 AM (EET).
The project is financed by the University of Bucharest, the University of Kiel, the Bucharest City Museum, the Lower Danube Museum Călărași and the Ministry of Culture. The project implementation team is the result of a partnership between the University of Bucharest, the University of Kiel, the Bucharest Municipal Museum, the Lower Danube Museum Călărași and the Gumelnița Oltenița Civilization Museum, with the support of the Mănăstirea Municipality (Călărași County), as well as the Romanian Archeology Association, but also of specialists from the Institute of Archeology “Vasile Pârvan” Bucharest, the National History Museum of Romania and HoGent Belgium.
