From 1 to 14 July 2019, a team of the University of Bucharest attended the CIVIS Summer School, held at the University of Sapienza in Rome and coordinated by PhD. Prof. Paolo Carafa. The talked of the Summer School was The Changing Landscapes of Classical World. Archaeology and History of the Roman City and its Rural Hinterland.
The University of Bucharest team was coordinated by PhD. Prof. Florica (Bohîlțea) Mihuț from the Department of Ancient History, Archeology and Art History of the Faculty of History within the University of Bucharest and included the following students: PhD students Adrian Vladu and Alexandra Iulia Ion and MA student Claudia Tarbă; From the Department of Ancient History, Archeology and The History Of Art of the History and PhD Student Diana Baraboi and Petru Molodeț-Jitea, from the Department of classical Philology in the Faculty Of Foreign Languages and Literature.
At the summer school, team members engaged in numerous theoretical and practical activities, including: courses about the archaeological landscape of ancient Rome (Dr. Paolo Carafa) and rural surroundings (Dr. Mattia Ippoliti and Dr. Sara Bossi), introductory courses on the evolution of ancient writing materials and types (Dr. Elena Spangenverg Yanes), applied courses (Dr. Cristina Maria Capana, Dr. Sarah Bossi, Dr. Elena Spangenverg Yanes), communication Research and Academic Communication — attainements and perspectives of Center for Comparative History of Ancient Societies, DIAAI, supported by PhD. Prof. Florica (Bohîlțea) Mihuț, fact-finding visits to the ancient regions of Rome, Palatinus and Campus Martius, field research and data collection in Villa Hadriani, Tivoli and applied courses for processing the collected data.
