Between May 27th – 31st 2024, Bucharest and Constanța will organize the Roman Mobilities CIVIS Blended Intensive Program, hosted by the Department of Ancient History, Archeology and History of Arts of the Faculty of History of the University of Bucharest.
Activities were opened by associate professor Sorin Costreie, CIVIS coordinator for the University of Bucharest. The program includes 36 students and professors from the University of Bucharest, Aix-Marseille Université, Université Hassan II de Casablanca, Université Libre de Bruxelles, Sapienza Università di Roma, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and University of Glasgow.
The program investigates the mobility of knowledge, persons and artifacts in the Roman world and include visit to archeological sites and museum in Constanța and Bucharest.
The program is organized by lecturer Alexandra Lițu, PhD, and associated professor Valentin Bottez, teaching staff at the Department of Ancient History, Archeology and History of Art of the UB Faculty of History. The program has the support of the following institutions: Francophonie Regional Centre for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences – CEREFREA Villa Noël of the University of Bucharest, the National Museum of History of Romania, the Museum of Bucharest, the Human Sciences section of the Research Institute of the University of Bucharest, the Maritime University in Constanța, Ovidius University in Constanța, Museum of National History and Archeology in Constanța, ICEM Institute in Tulcea.
