The University of Bucharest (UB) is the first university in Romania in what concerns the results of Employment Outcomes and Employer Reputation, according to the latest edition of Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2025, one of the most renowned rankings in the academic space at global level.
The University of Bucharest continues to maintain its position in the top of the most important universities in the ranking. Thus, for the indicator which targets Employment Outcomes, the University of Bucharest is positioned in the first 235 universities in the world, out of the 1.503 institutions included in the ranking this year, while for the indicator targeting Employer Reputation, the University of Bucharest ranks #462 at international level.
The general ranking QS World University Rankings 2025 positions the University of Bucharest in the 801-850 range. Next to the University of Bucharest, the ranking includes 12 other universities in Romania. Among these, five are members of the Universitaria Consortium, Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca (781 – 790), Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iași (1201 – 1400), West University in Timișoara (1201 – 1400), the University of Craiova (1401+) and Lucian Blaga University in Sibiu (1401+). The QS World University Rankings, now at its 21st edition, annually offers, starting from 9 performance indicators, a hierarchy of the most important higher education institutions in the world. Having different proportions in measuring the final score, the 9 indicators target International Faculty, Sustainability, Employment Outcomes, International Research Network, International Students, Academic Reputation, Citations per Faculty, Employer Reputation, and Faculty Student Ratio.
