Organized at the end of 2022, the second edition of TEDx University of Bucharest offered the UB community a platform for discussions about the challenges of a possible new type of everyday reality, the one in which the unpredictable and the crises play a major role in (re)defining relations between humans, in the strengthening of democratic values, in the manner in which, on an individual and collective level, we manage to adapt, learn and last.
Professors, experts, activists and researchers from fields such as education, sociology, sports, philosophy and political science were invited to the second edition of TEDx University of Bucharest – Disrupted Normality. Learn to Relearn.
The guests encouraged reflection on various topics, from the costs and ingredients of performance – this time, for sports -, the design of a new philosophy of learning, leadership in crisis of leaders or the war in Afghanistan and Ukraine. At the same time, the guests discussed on issues such as the power of solidarity, happiness in the field of education and the flexibility of the Romanian language in an increasingly digitized context.
Thus, TEDx University of Bucharest proposed the following speakers to all those interested:
Romiță Iucu, professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Bucharest, addressed the topic entitled Is the Unlearning the Future of Learning?
Anca Nedelcu, professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Bucharest, discussed the topic entitled What does a happy student mean today?
Marian Preda, professor at the Faculty of Sociology and Social Assistance of the University of Bucharest, spoke about Leadership and crisis management. In times of crisis of managers and leaders.
Alina Greavu – Aluziva, social activist and content creator, proposed a talk on the Power of social networks.
Rodica Zafiu, professor at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Bucharest and researcher at the Institute of Linguistics “Iorgu Iordan – Al. Rosetti” of the Romanian Academy, discussed the topic Romanian language and the Internet: a provisional assessment. What is lost and what is gained?
Sorin Costreie, professor at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Bucharest, invited the audience to reflect on the question How do we think about thinking?
Zaker Hussain Ershad, founder of the first non-profit university in Afghanistan and professor at the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Bucharest addressed the topic The war from (t)here. About the conflict in Afghanistan and Ukraine
“We wanted to bring in front of the public personalities from different areas of professional life and themes as varied as possible, all brought together under the umbrella of an existence marked by unpredictability. A reality dominated by continuous changes, imperceptible or disruptive, and which not only put us in front of completely new and unexpected situations, but also demand our ability to adapt, to remain united around the values that bind us and common objectives.
