The University of Bucharest is the best university in Romania for international students, according to the most recent data released by Study Abroad Aide’s World University Rankings. At world level, the University of Bucharest is situated, according to the same ranking, on position 857.
For the 2025 edition, available here, the ranking analyzes the performances of 8.536 universities from around the world and offers a broad perspective on internationalization. Romania is featured in the ranking with 73 higher education institutions.
The Podium of the ranking, reserved for the Universitaria Consortium
In the national ranking, available here, the University of Bucharest is followed by two universities members of the Universitaria Consortium: the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca (2nd place) and the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (3rd place).
Study Abroad Aide’s World University Rankings uses three indicators: reputation, number of foreign students and total number of students. In what concerns reputation, the ranking correlates the data from the most prestigious and recognized world rankings: Times Higher Education World University Rankings, QS World University Rankings and US News & World Report Best Colleges.
