The government of the United Arab Emirates will organize, through the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, during the World Government Summit 2025, the competition for the global prize for the best governmental apps developed by students from around the world.
Thus, the students of the University of Bucharest have the chance to win the Global M-Gov Award – World Government Summit 2025.
The award acknowledges the pioneering role of public and private universities from around the world, including the University of Bucharest, and that of creative and innovative students in approaching local and global challenges through ideas, prototypes and apps developed with the aid of technology.
Candidates can apply for the competition as teams of 2-6 students, and each application must be accompanied by a video in which the participants explain the main characteristics and benefits of the app developed/ to be developed, the problem it solves locally and/or globally, the solutions available and the scalability (the capacity to confront challenges effienitly and to maintain or even increase profits as it develops; sustainability in time, so that profits can increase why implementation expenses drop).
The registration form is available here. A university can be represented in the competition by more than a team, and a team can submit, during the registration phase, several projects. The deadline for applications is Wednesday, January 15th 2025.
Total prizes of 85.000 dollars (77.000 euro)
The organizers will grant three prizes: 50.000 dollars (1st prize); 25.000 dollars (2nd prize) and 10.000 dollars (3rd prize). The winners will be announced and awarded on the main scene of the World Government Summit in Dubai, between February 11th – 13th 2025.

The World Government Summit 2025 reunites government leaders for a global dialogue on the governmental process and policies, with an accent on technological innovation and other current themes. The summit acts as an center for knowledge exchange between governmental representatives, opinion leaders, political decision factors and leaders in the private sector and as a platform for the analysis of tendencies, problems and future opportunities that humankind is facing.
