According to the latest Top World Ranking of Scientists 2% for the year 2023, 21 out of the 257 top researchers in Romania are members of the academic community of the University of Bucharest.
The ranking, released by Stanford University (California, USA) in partnership with Elsevier Publishing and with the scientific research organization SciTech Strategies analyzed the papers of over 100.000 scientists in 22 fields and 174 sub-fields, offering a substantial database of the most important articles written at global level.
Teaching staff and researchers of the University of Bucharest are mentioned in two of the categories analyzed: category opera omnia and the 2023 category. The two categories offer information on the impact of the most cited researchers in the world, along their entire career or just for the year of 2023.
From the category of 2023, the ranking mentions teaching staff of the Faculty of Business and Administration (professor Bogdan Oancea, PhD), the Faculty of Biology (professor Mariana Carmen Chifiriuc, PhD, professor Veronica Lazăr, PhD, associate professor Alina Maria Holban, PhD), the Faculty of Chemistry (academician Marius Andruh, professor Pârvulescu I.
