Between September 11th -14th 2024, the University of Bucharest organized and hosted the 25th annual congress of the European Association for Education and Research in Public Relations (EUPRERA).
The theme of this year’s edition, The Art of Communication, aimed to connect the past with the future of strategic communication in the new technological ecosystem, inviting members of the global academic community, researchers and professionals, to an interdisciplinary scientific debate regarding the role of public relations and strategic communication, in the context of mutations generated by the impact of artificial intelligence and AGI.
Considering that the expansion of social networks, of deepfakes and metaverse structures gradually fade the difference between real and unreal, between true and false, the reunion of the most important communication specialists at global level will bring to the discussion, in Bucharest, professional standards, scientific milestones and the iconography of this field currently experiencing intense dynamic.
Doina Lemny and Anne Gregory, present at the Bucharest National Opera on September 11th 2024
During the central event that took place Wednesday, September 11th 2024, Doina Lemny, one of the most renowned international experts in the art of Constantin Brâncuși, and Anne Gregory, renowned international specialist in communication strategies and the ethic of PR, stepped on the stage of the Bucharest National Opera in front of more than 150 participants.
At the same time, three other personalities held presentations at the event hosted at the Bucharest National Opera, namely academician Mircea Dumitru, vice-president of the Romanian Academy, professor Marian Preda, PhD, rector of the University of Bucharest, Madlen Șerban, general secretary of the Romanian National Commission for UNESCO, as well as associate professor Alexandru Nicolae, PhD, vice dean of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Bucharest.
Panel dedicated to the European Association of Communication Directors (EACD) on September 12th, at Rectorate of the University of Bucharest
Thursday, September 12th 2024, the Rectorate of the University of Bucharest hosted a panel dedicated to the European Association of Communication Directors. Moderated by Dennis Larsen, member of the Executive Committee and the Administration Board of the EACD, the panel brought together five of the most important communication directors in Romania: Valentina Vesler – Aqua Carpatica, Loredana Samoilă – Kaufland, Gilda Lazăr – JTI, Elena Petrescu – Nuclearelectrica, Ana Diceanu – Brain4Strategy and Elena Apostol – Dacia Renault.

Subscribing to the timeline of the previous years’ conferences organized in Pague, Vienna, London, Oslo, Amsterdam, Milan, this edition of the EUPRERA congress aims to position Romania as a leader of the communication research and practices in Europe and the world. Hosted by the University of Bucharest, the 25th annual Congress of the European Association for Education and Research in Public Relations reunited in the capital of Romania more than 150 specialists in communication, journalism and public relations. The event benefited of support from companies Dacia, Domeniile Sâmburești, Aqua Carpatica, Kaufland România and JTI România. At the same time, the Romanian Academy and the Romanian National Commission for UNESCO supported the University of Bucharest in organizing the 2024 edition of EUPRERA.
