The University of Bucharest will be represented at the launch conference by Lucian Ciolan, PhD, Vice-Rector responsible for the overall coordination of the project, Silvia Făt, PhD, coordinator of the EDIS-PED training program, Anișoara Dumitrache, PhD, coordinator of the postgraduate Digital Pedagogy program and the EDIS-PED mentorship program, and Anca Ileana, PhD, Director of the IT&C Department. The event will be moderated by Olimpius Istrate, PhD, a faculty member of the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences at the University of Bucharest.
Digital pedagogy brings a fresh perspective to how teaching and learning are conducted and to what is being taught as well. New forms of structuring learning pathways encourage reflection on learning content, requiring it to adapt to different dimensions and benefiting from more efficient methods of processing, interpreting, re-signifying, processing, internalizing, re-creating, and co-creating.
Digital technologies have demonstrated their potential to open up education, transform it, and point it toward a plausible path for “reinvention” based not only on technological but also cultural, social, professional, economic, and, most importantly, humanistic foundations.
In this context, the EDIS-PED project will train 3,100 teachers in the field of digital pedagogy (through an accredited postgraduate training program, followed by mentoring and support activities for at least three months after training completion). Additionally, participating teachers will create open educational resources, which will be published on a RED platform.
