The Faculty of Sociology and Social Work announces the launch of the Doctoral School of Social Work, a premiere at national level. The new doctoral school aims to consolidate the capacity for fundamental research in social work. Thus, one of the main objectives is preparing, at the highest educational standards possible, specialists in Social Work and researchers in this field.
It our duty that we contribute, through facts, at consolidating the status of social work as a science and profession in the Romanian public conscience, underlined professor Doru Buzducea, PhD, the Director of the new Doctoral School.
The three PhD coordinators affiliated to this school, who offer guidance on a large array of national and international interest themes are professor Doru Buzducea, PhD, professor Ioan Durnescu, PhD, and professor Florin Lazăr, PhD.
For the academic year 2023-2024, admission to the Doctoral School of Social Work will be organized in September, and will consist of two tests: a written examination featuring questions from the recommended bibliography and an oral examination where candidates will defend their research project in front of the examination commission. The first School of Social Work in Romania was established by Order of the Minister of Education no. 6914/29.12.2023, by undertaking the PhD in Social Work initiated at the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work/UB in 2022, and who at the time of the founding of the school registered 18 PhD students in the field of Social Work.
