The Committee is interested in supporting actions of the University of Bucharest regarding the consolidation of a culture of ethics and academic integrity.
The Ethics Committee of the University of Bucharest develops its activity based on the appointment made by the rector of the University of Bucharest, which was validated by the Administration Council and by the UB Senate. It operates based on Act 1/2011 and on the normative documents of the University (the Charta, the Ethics Code and its own Regulations).
The Ethics Committee has the following attributions:
-
it contributes to the elaboration and the development of the Code of Ethics and Academic Deontology, which is brought forth to the Senate for implementation and inclusion in the Charta;
-
it analyses and resolves aberrances from the academic ethics, based on self or third-party notices, according to the Code of Ethics and Academic Deontology;
-
it creates an annual report regarding the point to which the academic ethics and the ethics of the research activity are respected, which is then brought forth to the rector and to the Senate and which constitute public domain;
-
other attributions, which are set by the law.
Any person within the University or outside can draw the attention of the Ethics Committee on the aberrances carried out by the members of the academic community. Anonymous notices are not taken into consideration.
The complaints can be sent to the University of Bucharest, in the attention of the Ethics Committee, 90 Panduri Street, Sector 5, 050663, Bucharest, Romania.
