Born and bred in Bucharest (Romania), she teaches since 2007 French linguistics, terminology and translation studies in the very university she graduated from in 1984 (as top of her class), master studies in France (Université de Lille, 1990-1991, mention “très bien”), PhD in French linguistics in 2006, University of Bucharest (summa cum laude). Assistant professor 2007-2022, associate professor since October 2022. 

Her current research focusses on: features, heads and projections in GG and the neurocognitive approach to lexical information; production and reconnaissance/ understanding (the role of production in the reconnaissance/ understanding); onomasiology in terminology (concept definitions, conceptual systems); testing NMT like DeepL and usage of target language comparable corpora as main postediting tool (in the vein of the former statistical phrase-based MT).
