Dragoș Iliescu is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at the University of Bucharest, where he also heads the doctoral school, and an Extraordinary Professor at Stellenbosch University. In addition to his academic career, he has been active in consultancy for the past 25 years, being involved in or leading a number of major projects related to psychological and educational testing and assessment, in commercial or governmental contexts across Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America.
His research interests center around two main areas: applied psychology in occupational and human capital contexts, and psychological and educational testing and assessment (with a strong intercultural component). Dragoș Iliescu has served in various official roles for several national and international professional associations; he is a former President of the International Test Commission (ITC) and the current President of Division 2 (Psychological and Educational Assessment) of the International Association of Applied Psychology.
He has been Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of Psychological Assessment and is currently Editor-in-Chief of the prestigious journal Intelligence, the leading international publication in the field of cognitive abilities. He is the author of over 200 scientific articles, book chapters, and books, including co-editor (with other esteemed colleagues) of the internationally awarded volume International Handbook of Testing and Assessment, published in 2016 by Oxford University Press, and the author of the monograph Adapting Tests in Linguistic and Cultural Situations, published in 2018 by Cambridge University Press.
