The University of Bucharest and the Arab Society for Fungal Conservation announce “The Third International Conference on Medical, Agricultural and Industrial Microbiology. Bacteria, Fungi and Viruses: Friends or Foes?”, organized between 22–25 June 2026.
Titles and abstracts should be submitted before the 25th of May 2026. Both oral and poster presentations are welcome.
The event will take place in a hybrid format at the Platform of Research in Biology and Systemic Ecology within the Faculty of Biology of UB (Splaiul Independenței 91-95, Bucharest).
Organized by the Faculty of Biology of UB, the Research Institute of the University of Bucharest (ICUB) and the Arab Society for Fungal Conservation (ASFC), in partnership with MIRRI-ERIC (Microbial Resource Research Infrastructure – European Research Infrastructure Consortium) and the National Institute for Chemical-Pharmaceutical Research and Development (ICCF) Bucharest, the conference provides an interdisciplinary forum to explore how advances in microbial research translate from academia into real-world applications.
The program of the event will feature international keynote speakers, interactive workshops, dynamic poster sessions and oral presentations, designed to foster networking, global collaboration, and the exchange of the latest developments in microbial sciences.
The conference welcomes national and international participants including leading academic scientists, professors, researchers and research scholars in microbiology, undergraduate and graduate students with relevant results in the fields.
A list of the keynote speakers is available here, while a detailed list of the main topics covered by the conference can be accessed here.
The working languages of the conference are English and Romanian.
