Between 27-30 July 2025, the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship – MOSWC will take place in Orlando, Florida, USA. This is an opportunity for students from the University of Bucharest who are passionate about IT and technology to register for the competition.
Participation is open to all young individuals certified in using Microsoft Office productivity applications. Certification can be obtained in Romania at accredited Certiport testing centres, the authorized partner of Certiport for Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
Eligibility Criteria for MOSWC 2025 Participation
All student candidates registered for the exams in the MOSWC competition must be aged between 18 and 22 years old (i.e., not have turned 23 by June 15, 2025) and they must be enrolled in an accredited higher education institution in Romania (in this case, the University of Bucharest).
The Microsoft Office World Championship (Microsoft 365 Apps) is organized in Romania by Certipro Education, and the restricted call competition is held in the following three categories: Microsoft Office Word (Microsoft 365 Apps), Microsoft Office Excel (Microsoft 365 Apps) and Microsoft Office PowerPoint (Microsoft 365 Apps).
All Microsoft Office Specialist exams are held in English.
Competition Stages
First, UB, and, by extension, all participant institutions, will establish one of the three categories available for the restricted call: Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Excel, and Microsoft Office PowerPoint. Additionally, UB will identify a minimum number of 100 student candidates to sit the Microsoft Office Specialist certification exam in the category selected by the host institution.

The candidate achieving the highest score in the final MOS exam during this competition will be invited to represent Romania at the 2025 MOSWC edition in USA during the aforementioned period. The deadline for signing up is June 15, 2024.
The selected student will be joined by a faculty member throughout the trip.
The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive prizes of 8.000 dollars, 4.000 dollars, and 2.000 dollars, respectively.
This year’s MOSWC edition was held in Anaheim, California, between July 28-31, 2024. The MOS Championship is a prestigious, high-level event that annually draws in students from all over the world. Over 600.000 students from 93 countries took part in this year’s edition.
