In the new autumn campaign of Blended Intensive Programs (BIPs), launched a short time ago, CIVIS announces the opening of registrations for 7 courses for students interested in the field of medicine and health. They address varied topics, exploring some of the biggest challenges of our time:
- Basic Cell Biology
- Experimental Models in Molecular Biomedicine
- Neurobiology of Mental Disorders
- Molecular Scale Biophysics
- Drug Design and Discovery
- Community & Public Health Promotion under the framework of Modern Pedagogical Approaches
- Challenges and innovative approaches in cardio-metabolic disease
For all topics, the application deadline is October 31, 2023, and places on such a course are limited and open to students from all 11 member universities of the Alliance, implying high competition. Applications can be submitted on the CIVIS mobility platform, accessible through the program list, here.
Therefore, considering that for most programs, selection is based on CV and cover letter, candidates are advised to pay special attention to these documents.
Also, a minimum B1 level of English is mandatory for all CIVIS BIPs, many of them also request a document certifying it.
Each BIP is developed, organized and taught by teaching staff from at least three CIVIS member universities and combines online teaching with 5 days of physical mobility in one of the countries of residence of the CIVIS member universities. This innovative format, which combines online sessions with face-to-face meetings, opens the way to new international study opportunities for CIVIS students. The period of physical mobility is financially supported from CIVIS funds, provided that the applicant does not simultaneously benefit from another Erasmus scholarship.
Built on the concept of academic excellence, this type of program breaks the boundaries of traditional subjects, cycles and fields of study, which guarantees participants a new vision on the debated topics. Completion of a BIP is rewarded with 3-6 ECTS and mentioned in each participant’s CIVIS passport. CIVIS is a European University Alliance that brings together 11 universities: Aix-Marseille Université (France), National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece), University of Bucharest (Romania), Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium), Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain), Sapienza Università di Roma (Italy), Stockholm University (Sweden), Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen (Germany), University of Glasgow (UK), Paris Lodron University Salzburg (Austria) and University of Lausanne (Switzerland). Selected by the European Commission among the first 17 European pilot universities, the CIVIS Alliance brings together approximately half a million students and over 70,000 staff members, including 37,400 academics and researchers.
