The University of Bucharest and the Ministry of Education organized Tuesday, September 10th 2024, the launching event of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) report – Education at a Glance (EaG 2024).
The launching conference took place at 12 AM in the Ioan Mihăilescu Hall of the Rectorate of the University of Bucharest (90, Panduri Street).
The event was attended by Corinne Heckman, programme manager of the OECD Education and Skills Directorate, Bogdan Cristescu, state secretary in the Ministry of Education, as well as Camelia Mircea-Sturza, counselor for European Affairs within the Ministry of Education.
The University of Bucharest was represented at the event by professor Lucian Ciolan, PhD, vice-rector for Development projects, Lifelong learning and Educational infrastructure, and professor of Public Policies and Research in Education, who moderated the meeting.
The event presented the main conclusions of the EaG 2024 relevant for the theme of equity and, as an answer to the OECD data, the national approaches in this field.
Launching the publication Education at Glance 2024 – EaG 2024 was also broadcasted live on the Facebook pages of the University of Bucharest (www.facebook.com/unibuc.ro) and of the Ministry of Education (www.facebook.com/www.edu.ro).

Education at a Glance represents the most authorized source of precise and relevant information on the state of education in the 38 states members of the OECD and a series of partner countries. Its indicators cover the results and impact of learning on the economic and social results, financial and human resources invested in education, access to education, participation and progress, as well as the learning environment and school administration.
