Contemporary Literature Press, under The University of Bucharest, in conjunction with The British Council, The Romanian Cultural Institute, and The Writers’ Union of Romania, announces the publication of „Lidia Vianu Translates: Five Romanian Poets. Cinci poeți români” on Thursday, 18 june 2020.
The volume includes poems by the first five winners of the national competition “Lidia Vianu Translates”: Romița Mălina Constantin, Diana Geacăr, Emil Nicolae, Ioan Es. Pop, Floarea Țuțuianu.
“Leaving aside all literary criticism, choosing the winners of the competition with my poetic instinct, I find myself in this book translating the lines that I could have written myself. These poets speak to me. I am confident they will also touch the hearts of their English readers”, said Lidia Vianu, initiator of the project.
