The EWL Migration Platform, the Centre for East European Studies at the University of Warsaw and the University in Bucharest cordially invite you to the presentation of a special report from the sociological study “Ukrainian refugees in Romania” on 28th June 2022, at 10:00 am at Conference Room, Faculty of Sociology and Social Work, Panduri Campus (Panduri 90).
The event will be attended by Professor Marian Preda, Rector of the University of Bucharest.
The special report was created after analyzing the results of the sociological study “Ukrainian refugees in Romania”, which was conducted in Bucharest, Brasov, Craiova and Iasi on 13 May-23 May 2022 by the EWL Migration Platform and the Centre for East European Studies at the University of Warsaw. It surveyed 400 Ukrainian citizens who decided to come to Romania after 24th February 2022 due to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. The study is part of a larger comparative regional investigation focused on three countries: Poland, Romania and the Czech Republic.
The report will answer key questions in relation to the migration of Ukrainian citizens during the war:
📌 HOW many refugees from Ukraine are planning to stay in Romania for the long term?
📌 DO Ukrainian refugees want to work in Romania?
📌 HOW do Ukrainian refugees assess their knowledge of Romanian and English?
📌 WHAT are the professions of Ukrainian refugees arriving in Romania?
📌 WHICH cities in Romania are the most popular among the refugees?
📌 WHAT are the refugees going to do after the war in Ukraine has ended?
📌 WHAT do the refugees in Romania fear the most?
Experts from the EWL Migration Platform, the Centre for East European Studies at the University of Warsaw and the University of Bucharest will comment on the results of the study. The last part of the event will be dedicated to a “Questions and Answers” session, in which the public and mass media will be able to engage the panel of experts.
