The “Dimitrie Brandza” Botanical Garden of the University of Bucharest was visited, in March, by more than 24,000 people, which represents a record increase of approximately 70% compared to the period before the COVID-19 pandemic, i.e. the year 2019. Also, starting this month, access tickets to the Botanical Garden are also available online on the institution’s website.
“The record number of visitors this spring, more than 24,000 (24,430, to be precise) exceeds even the values recorded before the COVID-19 pandemic. For example, in March 2019, the “Dimitrie Brandza” Botanical Garden of the University of Bucharest was visited by approximately 14,600 people, which indicates, for March 2023, an increase of approximately 70%.
A spectacular increase, of almost 5,000%, can be noted compared to March 2021 when, due to heavy snowfall, the Botanical Garden was visited by only 500 people”, said the director of the “Dimitrie Brandza” Botanical Garden, prof. Paulina Anastasiu, PhD, teaching staff at the Faculty of Biology of the University of Bucharest.
“Green Week”, opportunity to discover nature in the Botanical Garden
