What is a BIP?
Going beyond the limits of traditional courses, BIPs are a new format of Erasmus+ mobility. Depending on the topic and structure, a BIP can bring together students from various disciplines and a wide range of countries, even from outside Europe.
Each programme begins with an online learning phase, followed by a 5-day physical mobility at another CIVIS member university. This allows participants to collaborate directly with students and professors from across the Alliance and beyond.
Students can apply for up to two programmes within the same call.
Who can participate in a CIVIS BIP?
Each course has its own specific requirements. The main language of instruction is English (in some cases, French), so at least a basic level of proficiency is needed. For many of the programmes, the selection process is based on the student’s CV and motivation letter, so it is important to prepare these documents carefully.
A CIVIS BIP corresponds to at least 3 and up to 9 ETCS credits, depending on the workload.
Why take part in a BIP?
One of the biggest advantages of BIPs is the chance to study in another country, alongside students from across Europe, all without any financial costs. These programmes offer a rich and rewarding experience, combining learning, engagement, and meaningful connections.
CIVIS has been running BIPs for 3 years now, and hundreds and hundreds of students have discovered that their dream of studying abroad can become reality in a new, accesible, and innovative way.
No matter the cycle or field of study (Bachelor / Master, Master/ PhD), if you’re a student at a CIVIS member university, you can now apply for these programmes through the CIVIS website. More information is available here.
