Alexa Stoicescu leads the Dutch Section within the Department of Germanic Languages. She teaches the history of Dutch literature, from the medieval period to the latest titles, Dutch culture, and multiculturalism. Her research interests include contemporary literature (especially queerness, posthumanism, climate literature) and 20th-century literature, as well as contemporary methods of researching the history of literature. Alexa Stoicescu participates in international projects and gives lectures at national and international conferences. In addition to her work at the university, she translates Dutch fiction. Among the authors she has translated are Paul van Ostaijen (FrACTalia), Adriaan van Dis (Univers), Marieke Lucas Rijneveld (Pandora M), and Eddy de Wind (Humanitas).

As the coordinator of the Dutch Section, Alexa Stoicescu's activities include:

• Lectures on Dutch-language literature (contemporary, postwar, interwar, 19th century, 17th century), civilization of the Netherlands and Flanders, multiculturalism, translation science, introduction to research methods, didactics of the Dutch language, literature, and culture, Dutch as a foreign language
• Coordinating the section and planning the curriculum
• Submitting applications for grants and scholarships
• Guiding new colleagues from the Netherlands and Flander
• Coordinating guest visits to Romania: professors, researchers, and writers from the Netherlands and Flanders (contact, lecture planning, finances)
• Co-organizer of the annual CSAN student conference, with international guests, including Dutch writers Hanna Bervoets, Eva Meijer, Jeroen Dera, Raoul de Jong, and Maurits de Bruijn
• Coordinating Erasmus+ and Ceepus networks
• Partner in the Comenius networks (Dutch Studies in Central and Eastern Europe) and IVN (International Association for Dutch Studies).

Scientific Research Activity

As a researcher, Alexa Stoicescu participates annually in a series of international conferences and intensive summer courses for PhD and Master's students, organized at the University of Vienna, as well as at universities in Brno and Olomouc. She is also involved in various international research projects, including the DLIT (Dutch Literature in Translation) initiative. Her academic activity includes invitations to give keynote lectures at international conferences. For example, in 2022, she addressed contemporary trends in Dutch literature at the IVN congress (International Association for Dutch Studies), and in 2024, at the University of Nijmegen, Netherlands, she presented a new perspective on the history of modern Dutch literature, analyzed from a relational approach – a theme that is also the subject of the book she is currently working on.

Doctoral school topics abroad included: "Gender, queer, engagement" (2019), "Between identity and society. Contemporary Dutch literature" (2021), "Posthumanism. The representation of the robot in Dutch literature" (2023). The themes dedicated to literary translations were: „Translation and adaptation. Anton de Kom, Anne Frank, Annie M.G.
