The CIVIS Civic Engagement microprogram, launched by the University of Bucharest, the Autonomous University in Madrid and Tübingen University, next to the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, is once again open for registration. By October 18th 2024, students attending Bachelor’s or Master’s programs interested in combining several courses and module in a single, coherent and concise study manner can apply for this micro-programe.
Civic Engagement is designed that way to inspire participants to have an active contribution in society, applying academic knowledge in practice. The participants will thus learn to take on responsibilities, will acquire experience working for the community and will interact with other students from Europe, to obtain as broad an image as possible on the challenges of today’s society.
Due to the use of virtual mobility, hybrid and physical, students can construct their own flexible micro-program, without those barriers which often limit the participation to traditional courses at European level. Moreover, given the fact that a microprogram is conceived and provided jointly by several universities within the CIVIS Alliance, these mobility options open the way towards new learning experiences, innovative pedagogies, cultural exchanges, multilinguism and connections with other students from the CIVIS Alliance.
This programs aims not just for the personal development of its attendants, but also their professional one. At the end of the course, participants will receive the CIVIS Passport, one of the first instruments which acknowledges and registers educational experiences at European level.
In addition, students who participate to the CIVIS BIP Civic Engagement and Football: A Transdisciplinary Approach can also obtain credits for the CIVIS Civic Engagement. Microprogram. Applications for CIVIS BIPs have debuted on September 16th and can be submitted here.
