On Thursday, 30 October 2025, British Council Romania, in collaboration with the British Embassy in Bucharest, and with the support of the National University of Music Bucharest, will host the event “Black Voices. Shared Stories. One Romania”.
The event will take place rom 18:00 to 20:00 (entry from 17:45) at George Enescu Hall, National University of Music Bucharest, 33 Știrbei Vodă Street.
Part of the UK Black History Month programme, this will be the one of Romania’s first public celebrations dedicated to recognising the stories and contributions of Black communities.
“Black Voices. Shared Stories. One Romania” creates a space for dialogue, listening, and learning – celebrating the experiences of Black Romanians and other people of colour who call Romania home. It is also an invitation to reflect on identity, visibility, and the shared future we are building together
The evening will feature a panel discussion with inspiring Black Romanians who are shaping culture and creativity:
Beatrice Peter – Theatre Actor
Sandra Mavhima – Choreographer, Teacher and Artistic Director
Momo Sanno – Dancer and Choreographer
Al Kamara – Founder and CEO of Wave Advertising Group
The event will conclude with a live performance by the internationally acclaimed Momo Sanno, whose art celebrates movement, resilience, and human connection.
