Alma Mater Syndicate
The Teaching Staff Syndicate of the University of Bucharest ALMA MATER was established in 2009, in order to defend the rights and legitimate interests of its members (professional and economic and social, mainly), arising from labor law, the status of teaching and research staff in education higher, collective labor agreements and individual labor contracts, as well as from the international instruments to which Romania is a party.
The President and the members of the Executive Bureau shall carry out the decisions of the General Assembly.
Joining the Teaching Staff Syndicate of the University of Bucharest ALMA MATER is possible for people who have any form of employment contract concluded with the University of Bucharest.

The UNIVERSITAS Syndicate of the University of Bucharest is a trade union organization, democratically constituted, by free consent, impartial, independent, with civic and trade union activity.
The UNIVERSITAS Syndicate of the University of Bucharest was established to achieve the unity of action, promotion and defense of the rights and interests of its members, in order to fulfill the aspirations of its members.
It is an independent, strictly professional organization, which brings together by free adhesion expressed in writing, all categories of teachers, researchers, auxiliary and non-teaching staff with employment contracts, regardless of professional training, teaching degree, nationality, political beliefs, religion, sex and age.
The Universitas Syndicate aims to act to achieve the following main objectives:
- ensuring the observance of the fundamental rights of its members to: work, social protection and occupational safety, rest and social insurance, guaranteed assistance in case of unemployment, pension, as well as other rights guaranteed by the legislation in force;
- ensuring a job for each of its members, corresponding to the level of qualification and professional competence;
- ensuring adequate conditions for professional development or higher qualification, for all its members;
- promoting free initiative, freedom of expression and ensuring the unity of action of trade unions and affiliated trade union initiative groups.

Academia Syndicate
Participation in meetings at the Ministry of National Education (discussions and negotiations on auxiliary and non-teaching staff);
Negotiation of the Collective Labor Agreement at local level and at the level of Group of Units in the Higher Education and Research Branch.
Joining the ACADEMIA Syndicate is possible for people who have any form of employment contract concluded with the University of Bucharest.
