Launched in November 2018, within the Science Communication Program of the University of Bucharest, the UB Conference series – “Science for everyone’s understanding” aims to provide scientific information in an attractive and exciting manner to the public.
At the same time, the conferences aim to encourage the responsible connection between the academic community and the public by discussing current topics of interest to both the scientific community and the public.
The guests of the conferences are professors, researchers and personalities from varied domains of various sciences.
The format of the events includes a guest lecture presentation, followed by a moderate dialogue between the guest and the audience. Thus, the duration of the event is about 90 minutes, with a maximum of 60 minutes dedicated to the actual presentation of the speaker and about 30 minutes to the questions and answers session, designed to ensure an open and relevant interaction between guest and audience based on the approached or related topics.
The UB Conference Series – “Science for everyone’s understanding” continued during the pandemic, in online format. In these conditions, in order to ensure the quality of the video materials dedicated to the scientific community and the public, a pre-recorded format was chosen, in technological conditions that ensure a high accuracy of the materials.
The UB – “Science for All Understandings” conferences are coordinated by the Communication and Public Relations Department of the University of Bucharest.
