What happens to a parcel after we hand it over? What do the places where thousands of items are sorted look like, and what technologies are behind the postal services we use every day? On 9 October 2026, members of the University of Bucharest community are invited to find out the answers from inside the Romanian Post.
On World Post Day, the Romanian Post is opening its doors to the public and offering a glimpse into the less visible side of its operations. For students, teaching staff, and other members of the university community, this is an opportunity to look beyond the usual experience at the post office counter and discover how the mechanisms behind postal services actually work.
The event will take place on Friday, 9 October 2026, between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., at the headquarters of the Romanian Post, 6-8 Calea Giulești, Bucharest, Sector 6. Participation will be organised in groups made up of students, teaching staff, and members of the university community.
The visit will take participants through the Romanian Post’s new courier HUB, equipped with modern sorting facilities, as well as through the Post Printing House, equipped with state-of-the-art digital technologies.
The experience will also be complemented by a series of related activities, allowing participants to discover, in an interactive way, an insight into the world of the Romanian Post.
