A conference on the theme „Bibliometric Perspectives on Open Science: Exploration and Evaluation of Research” will be given by Gustaf Nelhans, PhD, Associate Professor from Sweden on Wednesday, 9 April 2025, at the Faculty of Letters, Department of Communication Sciences.
The conference is organised by conf. univ. dr. Octavia Madge, associate professor at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Bucharest and at the Doctoral School in Communication Sciences. The conference will be followed by a Q&A session.
Gustaf Nelhans is associate professor at the Swedish School of Library and Information Science (SSLIS) at the University of Borås, Sweden. His research focuses on the performativity of scientometric indicators, exploring the theoretical, methodological, and research policy aspects of scholarly publication through the lens of STS. Nelhans received his PhD in Theory of Science from the University of Gothenburg in 2013. He was a reference group member for the National Library of Sweden’s task of developing national guidelines for open science, is appointed board member of the National Library of Sweden’s Advisory Council, and a member of the Springer Nature European Research Advisory Council. As director for Data as Impact Lab at SSLIS he serves as node coordinator in the national infrastructure Huminfra and co-leads a project on assessment of research at the Swedish Energy Agency.
