The Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Bucharest hosts and organizes, together with the UB Center in Philosophy and Art and sector 6 City Hall, via the Cultural European Centre the Good Girls art exhibition, which reunites the works of 14 contemporary artists in Romania and France.
The Good Girls exhibition is an invitation to reflection and dialogue on the role of women in contemporary art and the importance of gender equality. The event is part of the 1001 Association’s project to empower young artists by connecting them transdisciplinary, project approaching themes relevant for contemporary society: plea for tolerance, ecology, feminism, solidarity, peace. The project is coordinated by lecturer Laurențiu Gheorghe, PhD, teaching staff at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Bucharest.
The exhibition debuted Tuesday, March 14th 2024, at the UB Faculty of Philosophy (204 Splaiul Independenței Str.). For this occasion, over 40 art works were curated by Cristian Cojanu and Ghilda Ghinoiu, with the support of Michele Bonavita and Matei Ghimiș. The works exhibited belong to artists Ana Bănică, BenTereZ, Cristina Cociș, Bianca Ferăstrău, Cristina Gagiu, Cristina Garabețanu, Adelina Gavrilă, Iraida, Oana Maria Pop, Cynthia Pedrosa (Franța), Claudia Todor, Simona Vilău, Daniela Vîrlan, Elena Waldorf.
The partners of the exhibition are Azero and Mustash.
This project was implemented at the University of Bucharest – CNFIS-FDI-2022-0499, Students today, entrepreneurs tomorrow – supporting business initiatives of UB students and graduates (BUSISNESSSTUDENT), and the micro project Logos Contemporary Art University Gallery was coordinated by lecturer Oana Șerban, PhD, teaching staff at the UB Faculty of Philosophy and Director of the Research Center for the History of Philosophical Ideas (CCIIF).
