The University of Bucharest is part of the following international networks:
UNICA is a network of 42 universities from the capital cities of Europe, with a combined strength of over 120,000 staff and 1,500,000 students. Its role is to promote academic excellence, integration and co-operation between member universities throughout Europe. It seeks also to be a driving force in the development of the Bologna process and to facilitate the integration of universities from Central and Eastern Europe into the European higher education area.
To achieve its aims UNICA articulates the views of member universities to European institutions and to national, regional and municipal governments. It provides members with information on European initiatives and programs, and supports them in co-operative projects. It also provides a forum in which universities can reflect on the demands of strategic change in university research, education and administration.
The University of Bucharest is the only university in Romania that is a member in this network. As an European higher education network, UNICA allows to its members, including University of Bucharest, to be in contact with the last dynamics of education aspects. As a member, the University of Bucharest has developed long-term partnerships with European universities through which the diplomas emitted by the University of Bucharest are recognized to European level. Also, UNICA organizes annually the Students’ Conference from universities members in UNICA , occasion which allows our students to establish richful contacts with their homologues.

CEEUN is a network formed by universities from Center and South-East of Europe. Membership status strengthens the regional cooperation and the collaboration between between faculties, departments and research centers from universities members. Criteria, methodologies and collaboration procedures between members allow the possibility to realize students’ and teachers’ mobility.
The European University Association (EUA) represents and supports higher education institutions in 46 countries, providing them with a unique forum to cooperate and keep abreast of the latest trends in higher education and research policies. Members of the Association are European universities involved in teaching and research, national associations of rectors and other organisations active in higher education and research. EUA plays an essential role in shaping tomorrow’s European higher education and research landscape thanks to its unique knowledge of the sector and the diversity of its members. The Association’s mandate in the Bologna process, contribution to EU research policy-making and relations with intergovernmental organizations, European institutions and international associations, ensure its capacity to debate issues which are crucial for universities in relation to higher education, research and innovation. EUA is the result of a merger between the Association of European Universities (CRE) and the Confederation of European Union Rectors’ Conferences in 2001.
The University of Bucharest, as a member of EUA, benefits by the services of this prestigious association: support in educational policies, conferences, workshops, projects, and other services centered on projects as the program of institutional evaluation, but also on an independent service dedicated to PhD education. Over 4.000 university leaders have benefitted by EUA services up to now.

AUF is a university association present all over the world, with more than 434 agencies distributed in 67 countries attached to 9 regional offices. From 1989, this association of universities is an operator of institutional francophony. Partner of higher education and research institutions, AUF proposes multiple programs of cooperation concerning the support of research and of French education.
The University of Bucharest is a traditional partner of AUF by promoting and supporting education in French language. Annually there are more than 200 scholarships available to students through AUF mobility programs. AUF disposes of a annual budget more than 40 million euro, funds which come from governments, specially French and Canadian ones, and from university institutions like for example French Community from Belgium, France, Switzerland and Cameroun, but also southern states which support local universities and put at the disposal of AUF personnel and local support. The AUF, whose center is at the University of Montreal, contributes at the consolidation of a unitary space which favors a scientific cooperation, and forms future actors of development, supports research and excellence, and shares expertise.
The University of Bucharest, through this strategic partnership, proved a continuous preoccupation in quality education and research improvement and adaptation to a highly competitive environment which dominates Europe. Integrated to this vision, the constant support granted to AUF, the French Embassy and French Cultural Service have contributed to the development of excellence poles in the University of Bucharest.

The Black Sea Universities Network (BSUN) has been established based on the recommendation of the PABSEC Cultural, Education and Social Affairs Committee during the session held in Bucharest in August 1997. Sharing the goals of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (hereinafter BSEC) and of the Parliamentary Assembly of Black Sea Economic Cooperation (hereinafter PABSEC), BSUN has a very important role to the transformation of the Black Sea region, through mutual cooperation, into a region of peace, freedom, stability and prosperity. Also, BSUN has a very fundamental role to the support of regional universities as institutional leaders on economic, political and cultural level. Through its membership, the University of Bucharest supports the adaptation process of universities in Bologna process and strengthens the regional collaboration.

The Academic Cooperation Association (ACA) is a dynamic think tank in the area of international cooperation in higher education. Its goal is to promote innovation and internationalisation of European higher education while maintaining a global outreach. ACA’s activities include research and analyses, evaluations, consultancy for private and public bodies, advocacy, publications, and much more. The Academic Cooperation Association is a not-for-profit pan-European network of major organisations responsible in their countries for the promotion of internationalisation in education and training. ACA’s Secretariat is located in Brussels – a privileged position to create and maintain close working relations to the European institutions. ACA is a centre of expertise, producing studies and evaluations, organizing seminars and international conferences, offering information about the dynamics of European and global higher education sector.

The European Inter–University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation (EIUC) is an interdisciplinary centre formed by 41 universities from all European Union Member States. It is founded on a commitment to the realisation of the values enshrined in the European Union Charter of Fundamental Rights, the promotion of high-level inter-disciplinary human rights education, research, training and culture, and a shared global understanding of human rights and democracy. EIUC is located in Venice, Italy.
By facilitating a pan-European pooling of expertise, EIUC’s mission is to foster a community of scholars, researchers and professionals, with the problem-solving capacities and creativity to promote democracy and the implementation of human rights worldwide. EIUC advances innovative models for programs and projects that bridge theory and practice and are significant for determining human rights and democratisation policies in Europe, providing assistance to neighbouring countries, and promoting the rule of law, democratic principles and good governance through overseas development cooperation.
EIUC is the only European institution identified in the Regulation (EC) No. 1889/2006 of The European Parliament and of the Council on establishing a financing instrument for the promotion of democracy and human rights worldwide as beneficiary of EU operational funding in the financial perspective 2007-2013.
Supported by the European Union and advised by major intergovernmental, non-governmental, regional and local strategic partners EIUC’s activities include:
1. Providing high level action-oriented and interdisciplinary education for students worldwide;
2. Developing advanced training with a view to meeting operational requirements for senior officials of international organisations, field personnel, and other human rights professionals;
3. Identifying processes and means of transferring academic and institutional expertise into the public sphere, e.g. through the visual arts and mass media;
4. Creating a fertile environment for research and research cooperation and the transformation of results into realistic policies;
5. Representing a network of more than 850 graduates of the European Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Democratisation now working for governments, major international organisations, and non-governmental organisations in and outside Europe.

EURAS is a no-profit international association, promoting cooperation among over 40 Universities from all around Europe, Asia and the Middle East and working for the global advancement of educational standards in the Eurasian region.
Being the cradle of all known civilizations and having the 2/3 of all the world population, the Eurasian region thus represents a center of excellence in terms of educational developments and cultural flows. GRID is a project whose purpose is the establishment of collborative models for the usage of computational and data resources in various fields, in Europe and in world. In this context, regional initiative from South-Eastern demonstrated recently that computational independent resources can constitute a scientific substantial value for higher education institutions in this region. Through the interconnection of regional infrastructure with pan-European one and global electronic infrastructures, SEE websites can beneficiate of advanced applications who could, otherwise, to be unavailable, helping to create equal opportunities for each citizen of the region.
