The Romanian language lectureship in Oxford celebrated 10 years of existence, with a conference organized on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Trinity College, Oxford and with the “Romanian in Oxford” exhibition, held between May 15 and June 9, 2023, hosted at the Taylor Institution Library and curated by Adina Brădeanu, PhD, and prof. Martin Maiden.
The conference was opened by prof. Martin Maiden, who established the Romanian language lectureship in Oxford and Doctor Honoris Causa of the University of Bucharest. Her Excellency Mrs. Laura Popescu, Ambassador of Romania to Great Britain, attended the event.
The University of Bucharest is linked to the Romanian language lectureship in Oxford, through the collaboration with prof. Oana Uță Bărbulescu, PhD, teaching staff at the Faculty of Letters.
Also, the events organized on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Romanian language lectureship in Oxford were also attended by prof. Adina Dragomirescu, PhD, director of the Institute of Linguistics of the Romanian Academy “Iorgu Iordan – Alexandru Rosetti”, and by prof. Alexandru Nicolae, PhD, researcher at the same institute and teaching staff at the Faculty of Letters of UB.
