Updated information on the 2023 admission to the University of Bucharest, available on the website admitere.unibuc.ro.
The 19 faculties of the University of Bucharest have established the admission procedures for the two sessions in 2023 – July and September. For the admission session in July, registration at the faculties of the University of Bucharest will be possible both online and physically, in the period 3–26.07.2023, and the deadline for displaying the final results is July 29, 2023.
For the 2023 admission sessions to the University of Bucharest, for bachelor’s program, five forms of admission can be distinguished:
- Admission based on the average/grades from baccalaureate in the case of the Faculty of Business and Administration, the Faculty of Biology, the Faculty of Chemistry, the Faculty of Geology and Geophysics, the Faculty of Letters, the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures (for some of its majors)
- Admission based on the baccalaureate average and a motivational essay/motivation letter in the case of the Faculty of Geography, the Faculty of History, the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work, the Faculty of Political Science, as well as the Faculty of Baptist Theology
- Admission based on written examination in the case of the Faculty of Law.
- Admission based on a mixed formula in the case of the Faculty of Business and Administration(Business Administration), the Faculty of Philosophy, the Faculty of Physics, the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences, the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures (for some majors), the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, the Faculty of Orthodox Theology “Justinian the Patriarch”, as well as the Faculty of Roman Catholic Theology
We note that the mixed admission may include, as the case may be, the average from the baccalaureate exam, written/oral exam, questionnaire marked with admitted/rejected, results at Olympiads and school competitions, aptitude tests, etc. More details on the methods of admission to the BA programs offered by the 19 faculties of the University of Bucharest can be accessed on the website https://admitere.unibuc.ro.
Regarding the master’s programs offered by the 19 faculties of the University of Bucharest, the following admission procedures can be distinguished:·
Average from the BA exam: Faculty of Geology and Geophysics·
General graduation average of BA studies, essay and interview: Faculty of Sociology and Social Work·
Average of the BA years of study and average of the undergraduate exam: Faculty of Business and Administration (in the case of majors in foreign languages there will also be eliminatory tests to verify language skills), Faculty of Geography, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences (for some programs)·
Interview: Faculty of Baptist Theology·
Interview and file competition: Faculty of Roman Catholic Theology·
Interview and average of BA studies: Faculty of Chemistry (in the case of majors in foreign languages there will also be eliminatory tests to verify linguistic skills) and Faculty of Orthodox Theology “Justinian the Patriarch”·
Interview/presentation of the research project/career project: Faculty of Political Science (in the case of majors in foreign languages there will also be eliminatory tests to verify language skills)· Mixed admission: Faculty of Philosophy, Faculty of Letters, Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences (for some programs)
File competition: Faculty of Law (in the case of majors in foreign languages, there will also be eliminatory tests to verify language skills), Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics (an oral exam will also be held)·
Project and defense of project: Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences·
Cover letter and interview: Faculty of History·
Oral exam: Faculty of Physics·
Written exam and interview: Faculty of Biology
Candidates for the 2023 admission who will apply for the didactic master’s programs offered by the Faculties of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Philosophy, Geography, History, Letters and Foreign Languages and Literatures will have to write a letter of intent (marked with accepted/rejected) and they will be evaluated based on the average of the graduation exam of the BA studies.
