On Monday, June 12, 2023, the University of Bucharest organized, as a partner, the closing conference of the “BLINDhub” project. The event took place at the “Dimitrie Brandza” Botanical Garden of the University of Bucharest and was organized in partnership with the Romanian Blind Association and the Orange Foundation.
The project took place between October 2020 and June 2023 and meets the needs of over 50,000 visually impaired and able-bodied people in Romania, in the context of the digitization trend, but also of the growing demand among employers for well-trained human capital.
The BLINDHub project was financed by the Orange Foundation, through the “World through Color and Sound” program, the largest fund dedicated to visually/hearing impaired people in Romania.
The main element of the project is the mobile application in which beneficiaries can create a complete professional profile based on a video CV for free. Interested companies have the opportunity to filter the database and send interview requests directly to candidates.
The video CV material will be made with the support of the project team in the 2 BLINDHub centers in Bucharest or in the country, in the events organized in 5 big cities, with the aim of promoting the benefits of the application, both for the employee and for the employer.
Until today, May 12, 2023, in the application available both in the Play Store and in the App Store, 4 universities, 42 companies and 414 beneficiaries were registered in the application.
More details on the actions carried out within the project are available on the BLINDhub.ro Facebook page, and the agenda of the closing event, along with more details on the project’s indicators, can be consulted here.
