Between June 11-13, 2025, a delegation from the University of Bucharest will participate in the CIVIS DAYS 2025 event. Hosted by Sapienza University in Rome, this edition is titled “Inclusion and Diversity in Higher Education” and emphasizes CIVIS Alliance’s ongoing commitment to creating an inclusive and diverse academic space.
The event will bring together students, faculty members, administrative staff from the 11 member universities, decision-makers, innovators, and local authorities from across Europe.
The sessions during CIVIS Days 2025 aim to create a suitable environment for discussions and cooperation aimed at strengthening CIVIS by identifying innovative solutions to societal challenges faced by CIVIS.
During the plenary session “From Inclusivity to … Transclusivity. The road from inclusive universities to transformative European Alliances” that opens the event, Professor Romiță Iucu, PhD, will give a keynote presentation, while Professor Marian Preda Phd, Rector of the University of Bucharest, will participate in a roundtable alongside Mattia Bellotti, Secretary-General of the EUTOPIA Alliance.
Furthermore, the three days of CIVIS Days 2025 will feature numerous workshops, conferences, working meetings, and several open sessions, with the following topics:

About CIVIS
CIVIS is a university alliance of 11 of Europe’s most renowned universities, with approximately half a million students and over 70,000 staff members, including more than 37,400 academic staff and researchers. Their expertise, knowledge, and shared values not only strengthen CIVIS’ role in shaping the future of higher education but also address essential societal and practical challenges of today.
The founding members of CIVIS were: Aix-Marseille University (France), National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece), Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium), University of Bucharest (Romania), Autonomous University of Madrid (Spain), Sapienza University of Rome (Italy), University of Stockholm (Sweden), and Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen (Germany). In December 2020, the European Commission approved the integration of the University of Glasgow into the CIVIS universities alliance as an associated partner, and in October 2021, Paris Lodron University (PLUS) in Salzburg became the tenth member of the Alliance and the first Austrian university in our European family. As of October 1, 2022, with the official membership of the University of Lausanne (UNIL), the CIVIS community expanded to 11 member universities.
