The academic community of the University of Bucharest is invited to take part in the webinar “How can universities engage more inclusively with migration and cultural diversity”, organised by the CIVIS Alliance.
The webinar will take place on Monday, 16 February 2026, from 14:00 to 15:00 (Romanian time). Those interested can participate by accessing this link.
The webinar aims to foster reflection on how universities can actively and inclusively contribute to addressing challenges related to migration and cultural diversity. It will showcase educational initiatives, projects, and innovative practices that support intercultural dialogue, social inclusion, and engagement with migrant communities.
A central focus of the discussion will be on collaboration with migrant communities and the essential role these partnerships play in community-engaged initiatives. Working with populations that may face vulnerability or marginalisation raises important questions around trust-building, accessibility, and ethical responsibility. In this context, it becomes crucial to adapt working methods so that voices often unheard can genuinely influence both processes and outcomes.
Such collaborations highlight not only challenges – such as navigating power dynamics or overcoming linguistic and cultural barriers – but also valuable opportunities. Cultural diversity can enrich collective reflection and contribute to outcomes that are more socially relevant and better connected to the lived realities of the communities involved.
