Communication and Public Relations Department

The Communication and Public Relations Department has the mission of establishing and maintaining effective communication between the University of Bucharest and its internal and external audiences. Through its activities, the Department ensures public information, strengthens the University’s institutional reputation, and supports its strategic promotion.

The Department’s responsibilities cover the following areas:

1. Organizational communication
   – develops and implements communication strategies and tactics between the University and its stakeholders, and administers the University’s official communication channels
2. Media relations
   – builds and consolidates an effective relationship with the media by identifying and promoting topics of public interest, and by managing communication crises
3. Public information
   – provides information of public interest to individual and legal entities, in accordance with Law 544/2001 regarding free access to public information
4. Petition handling
   – coordinates the resolution of petitions in compliance with Government Ordinance 27/2002 concerning the right of citizens to address petitions to public authorities and institutions
5. Editorial content
   – produces multimedia content on University activities and manages the institutional news flow for the website and newsletters
6. Communication campaigns
   – plans and implements communication campaigns on topics consistent with the University’s mission
7. Event management
   – coordinates both the concept and the logistical organization of the University’s public events
8. Institutional protocol
   – manages protocol arrangements for institutional meetings, academic ceremonies, and other representation activities
9. Corporate identity and Branding
   – strengthens institutional identity and oversees the University’s visual identity elements
10. Digital communication
    – manages the University’s online presence through websites and social media, coordinating both content production and visual identity
11. Graphic design
    – designs and prepares print and digital promotional materials, signage, and branded objects in line with the University’s visual identity
12. Photo and video production
    – coordinates photography and video production activities and administers the University’s photo-video library
13. Promotional materials
    – oversees the production of promotional objects and branded materials for representation, protocol and events
14. Science communication
    – promotes the University’s research activity and disseminates research results to enhance public engagement with science
15. Educational marketing
    – promotes study programs and informs prospective candidates about admission opportunities through institutional communication channels and educational fairs.
16. Student relations
    – maintains an effective communication with students and student associations by implementing projects, campaigns and initiatives for the student community
17. Internal communication
    – develops strategies and tools for effective communication within the academic community, including faculty, researchers, and administrative staff
18. Alumni relations
    – consolidates communication with alumni through projects, campaigns, and partnerships, in collaboration with the University of Bucharest Alumni Association
19. Fundraising
    – develops and maintains communication with sponsors to attract funding, in collaboration with the University’s Virtute et Sapientia Foundation
20. Public Affairs
    – implements campaigns, projects, and partnerships aimed at strengthening relations with governmental institutions and the wider community, in coordination with the University’s leadership structures
21. Well-being
    – designs and delivers cultural, sports, and recreational activities to promote the well-being of the University’s academic community
