The Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) will host the international event “Modular Futures: Rethinking Learning through Micro-credentials” from 11 to 14 November 2025. Applications are open until 15 September 2025 and can be submitted via the application form available here.
The event is aimed at members of the academic communities of CIVIS member universities who are interested in micro-credentials, from their design to their implementation.
Micro-credentials – short learning experiences focused on acquiring specific and verifiable skills – are becoming increasingly valuable in both educational and professional contexts, where flexibility, upskilling, and targeted competencies are more important than ever.
The main objective of the event is to strengthen participants’ capacity to design, implement, and recognise high-quality micro-credentials aligned with European standards, particularly the European Approach to Micro-credentials—and adapted to the needs of the CIVIS Alliance.
More information about this opportunity is available on the CIVIS website here. Questions regarding the event may also be addressed to the CIVIS Office at the Autonomous University of Madrid at civis-eu@uam.es.
CIVIS Staff Weeks are dynamic and interactive learning experiences designed for university staff interested in exchanging ideas and developing their professional skills. Hosted by CIVIS member universities, these events bring together colleagues from across Europe for an intensive programme of workshops, discussions, and networking sessions.
CIVIS is a European University Alliance bringing together 11 of Europe’s leading universities, representing approximately 500,000 students and over 70,000 staff members, including more than 37,400 academic staff and researchers. Their shared expertise, knowledge, and values not only strengthen CIVIS’s role in shaping the future of higher education, but also contribute to addressing today’s most pressing societal and practical challenges.
