The community of professors within the CIVIS Alliance is invited to submit, until November 30, 2023, the proposals for the next series of intensive hybrid courses (Blended Intensive Programs – BIPs).
BIPs are designed to support the development of short-term mobilities. It is a set of courses based on a hybrid mobility model, including a 5-day physical section and a virtual (online) section.
Moreover, the approach used within this type of program is interdisciplinary and dedicated to the concept of academic excellence. Crossing the boundaries of traditional subjects, curricula and fields, intensive hybrid courses guarantee participants a fresh perspective on their topics and fields of study.
However, this type of program is a unique opportunity not only for students, but also for the teaching staff involved in its development and implementation. The exchange of experience with professors from other member or partner universities of the alliance, interdisciplinary and multicultural teaching, as well as the sustained physical mobility period in one of the host countries of the program can be a huge step in the professional development of each of the members of the academic community.
Whether it is a new international educational project that needs funding, or an already ongoing program that can and wants to be developed to a higher level, each proposed intensive hybrid course (BIP) must be the result of a collaboration between professors from at least three CIVIS member universities, respecting the following eligibility criteria: mixed format (virtual sessions and 5 days of physical mobility); student participation can be rewarded with 3-9 ECTS (the exact score will be defined by the organizers).Proposals must be related to at least one of the 5 hubs of the CIVIS Alliance: Health; Cities, territories and mobility; Climate, Environment, Energy; Digital and technological transformation; Societies, culture and heritage.
Also, given that we are talking about an Erasmus+ mobility format, each BIP must meet the requirements and regulations of this type of program in order to receive funding. All the details on the eligibility conditions, the project implementation and analysis calendar as well as the BIP design handbook are available here.
