The Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science team obtained three gold medals in the IMC 2019 competition – International Mathematical Competition for University Students 2019 (IMC 2019).
The competition took place between July 28 and August 3, 2019 in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, and the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Bucharest team, coordinated by the lecturer Gabriel Mincu, was constituted by students Robert-Andrei Bâra (1st year), Dragoș Manea (2nd year) and Călin-Daniel Spiridon (2nd year).
The opening ceremony of the contest, attended by the whole team, took place on Monday, July 29, 2019 and was succededed by three jury meetings. Within them were selected the problems for the contest. At the contest tests, which took place on Tuesday, July 30, and on Wednesday, July 31, the students had to solve five problems during five hours.
On Friday, August 2, 2019, the University of Bucharest students ascended on the contest stage, as part of the award ceremony and the closing of the competition, which took place immediately after the final meeting of the jury, attended by the UB lecturer Gabriel Mincu.
