On Friday, November 15, 2024, the PR ARENA jury announced the winners of the seventh edition of the student competition initiated by the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences of the University of Bucharest and Global Women in PR Romania (GWPR).
In the final event, 10 teams of students from the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences of UB and the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration had to come up with PR campaigns starting from the brief formulated by Pain Plaisir. The teams, coordinated by specialists in the communication industry, proposed creative and efficient communication solutions for the problems raised by the client, and they presented the results of tenths of hours of brainstorming and teamwork.
„I encourage those who had this experience in their first year of studies to come to PR Arena with their teams in the following years and show what they have learned. Congratulations for the collaboration, everything you’ve done is amazing”, noted Ana Maria Diceanu, co-founder and president of GWPR Romania.
The winners of the 1st prize were the members of the team Ostașii, mentored by Andreea Apostu, who managed to score 261 points. The 2nd prize was awarded to team Skibi, mentored by Dana Nae Popa, with only three points less than the first team. The 3rd prize was awarded to the members of the team ALL, mentored by Elena Apostol, with 242 points.
The winning concept, proposed by the Ostașii, was based on the idea of the community that surrounds the French desert Galette des Rois, traditionally served annually on January 6th. One of the PR tactics surrounding the concept aims to donate 10% of the revenues obtained from the Galette sales to the „Pâine și Mâine” program of World Vision Romania.
„I must admit, I was scared when I saw the brief and a 3.000-euro budget. However, after seeing the ideas of the students I calmed down. I did not feel like their mentor, I felt like their colleague, I felt like we all learned things from one another, and for that I thank them”, said Dana Nae Popa, managing partner Pastel.
