Four students brought medals to Romania at the European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI), held from July 14–20, 2025, in Bonn, Germany.
The Romanian team was coordinated by Alexandra Udriștoiu from the University of Bucharest and Raluca Costineanu from “Ștefan cel Mare” National College in Suceava, both representatives of the Society for Excellence and Performance in Informatics (SEPI), which is responsible for the selection and training of national teams.
Results achieved at the Olympiad:
Silver medals: Ilinca-Rucsandra Radu, National College/Infogym – Hai la Olimpiadă, Iași; Ema-Nicole Gheorghe, International Theoretical High School of Informatics, Bucharest; Laura Moldovan, “Tudor Vianu” National College of Informatics, Bucharest.
Bronze medal: Iulia-Ela Morariu, “Emil Racoviță” National College, Cluj Napoca.
This year’s edition – the fifth – brought together 228 participants from 60 countries, including 27 countries from outside Europe.
The European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI) is an international competition dedicated to girls with a passion for computer science, aiming to promote gender diversity in computational sciences.
The University of Bucharest congratulates these outstanding students on their achievements and encourages them to continue inspiring others through their determination, talent, and pursuit of excellence in computer science.
