On 11-12 February 2026, the Research Institute of the University of Bucharest (ICUB) invites you to two special one-day events
- The Research & Innovation session Microscopic Insights into Advanced Materials – Wednesday, 11 February 2026, Oteteleșanu Mansion, Măgurele
- The Cultural Heritage and Conservation session Microscopic Insights into Cultural Heritage – Thursday, 12 February 2026, National History Museum of Romania – Mihai Viteazul Hall
The first event, the Research & Innovation session Microscopic Insights into Advanced Materials, is a one-day event dedicated to advanced digital microscopy, bringing together researchers and specialists from materials science, nanotechnology and interdisciplinary research.
Topics include:
- Materials science and nanotechnology
- Advanced microscopy and spectroscopy
- Interdisciplinary research and innovation
The event will feature a keynote presentation and live demonstration, followed by discussions on integrating advanced imaging technologies into research activities.

The second event, the Cultural Heritage and Conservation session Microscopic Insights into Cultural Heritage, is a one-day event dedicated to the dialogue between technology and cultural heritage, exploring how advanced, non-invasive 3D imaging can support conservation and research.

- Microscopy for Heritage Conservation
- Advanced microscopy and museum artefacts
- Technology, Heritage & Future Perspectives
The event will feature applied case studies on heritage objects from museum collections, live demonstrations and professional discussions, bringing together museum professionals, conservators and academics.
